Texture that does the talking: the Angelique is a loose-fit, hip-length cardigan in a black and white chevron knit, closed with a row of mottled brown buttons. Relaxed enough for everyday layering, distinctive enough to carry an outfit on its own.

The chevron is knitted in black and white yarn, so it reads as a soft mid-tone from a distance and resolves into crisp points up close. The Vs run continuous and unbroken down the center of each panel and sleeve, and turn again across the back. White ribbing at the placket, cuffs and hem frames it, in the same white as the light yarn in the pattern.

Is the pattern a chevron or a herringbone?
A chevron. The diagonals meet in one continuous point, with no offset break at the join, so the Vs nest cleanly inside each other.
