Yes. The five openings between and below the buttons are genuinely open, so skin is visible through them. They run about 20 cm from the neck edge and stop at the underbust. The rest of the dress is opaque and unlined.

What should I wear under it?
A strapless or adhesive bra, or one with a narrow, low center gore. The cut-outs sit directly over the center panel of a bra, and the wide neckline sits close to the shoulder points, so standard straps can peek out. The back is high and plain, so back coverage is not the issue.

How does it fasten?
It pulls on over the head. There is no zip, and the back is continuous rib with no opening. The buttons ornament the cut-outs; undoing one would not open the dress.

Is the whole dress fitted?
The bodice is. Bust, ribcage, waist and hip follow the body closely, then the skirt releases into a full fluted A-line with real sweep. The hem sits at the ankle.
