A statement knit with real presence: the Madeleine is a loose-fit, hip-length cardigan in an oversized black houndstooth on cream, closed with a row of slim black buttons. Ribbed cuffs and hem pull the relaxed shape together, so it drapes without losing its structure.
The houndstooth is blown up large, so only a handful of dogtooth motifs, spurs and all, cover the whole front, with finer zigzag bands running between them. The tall ribbed collar, the broad placket, the deep cuffs and the hem are all plain cream, which keeps the pattern on the body and sleeves. The bag shown is not included.
