Wide lapels, a belt at the waist: the Rachelle is a belted trench-style jacket in a deep indigo cloth, with the diagonal grain of the twill running clearly across it.

The cloth is a dark indigo rinse with a soft brushed hand and a fine diagonal grain, flecked through with pale threads that give the blue its depth. Gold-toned topstitching picks out the lapels, the seams, the cuff straps and the belt. The broad lapels bring the drama, the tie belt shapes the waist when you want it, and buttoned straps at the wrists let you set the sleeve. There are buttoned shoulder tabs and a storm flap at the chest, welt pockets at the hip keep it grounded in real life, and the cut is loose to the hip with a dropped shoulder. How does it fasten, and can I adjust the fit?
It wraps at the front and holds with the self tie belt. There are no buttons down the front. Tie the belt for a defined waist or leave it loose, and set each sleeve with the buttoned strap at the wrist.

What is the cloth like, and how should I look after it?
A deep indigo with a soft brushed hand and a fine diagonal twill grain you can see across the surface. A dark indigo like this can mark light fabrics and pale bags while it is new, so wash it separately the first few times and dry it out of direct sun.

Is it lined?
There is no contrast lining. Where the wide lapels fold back you see the paler blue-gray reverse of the same cloth.

What length is it, and does it have pockets?
It falls at the hip. Yes, there are welt pockets set in at the hip.
