Gwenaelle Color-Block Knit Top & Midi Skirt Set

The Gwenaelle set is a two-piece set: a short-sleeved knit top and a matching midi skirt, sold together. Both pieces are soft white with solid black color-blocking, black at the sleeve cuffs and again in a deep band around the skirt hem.

The white and the black meet in a zigzag intarsia join rather than an applied trim. Every rib finishes in a pointed black tip that bites up into the white, so the color change is knitted into the fabric with no binding, piping or seam. The knit is a fine, wide-set vertical rib, and the rib panels change direction to form mitered chevrons across the bodice and across the front and back of the skirt, a rib-direction effect rather than a print. The top closes nowhere: it pulls over the head, ends in a plain softly rolled knit edge just below the natural waist and overlaps the skirt, so no midriff is on show.

Is the top a pullover or a cardigan?
A pullover. It has no front opening and no back opening, and the neckline is a small ribbed mock neck that stands slightly off the neck.

Does the skirt have a zip, pockets or a slit?
No. No fastening is visible on the skirt, the waist is a plain narrow rolled knit edge with no separate waistband, and there are no pockets, no slit and no vent on either piece.

Is the black part sewn on?
No. The black at the cuffs and along the skirt hem is knitted into the fabric as a color-block and joined to the white with a zigzag intarsia edge, so there is no stitched trim to fray or lift.
