The Régine takes a pea coat and knits it — two parallel rows of marbled horn buttons, a ribbed collar with pointed tips, and two flap pockets at the hip. The fronts cross on a diagonal, so the hem steps rather than meeting square.
Cropped to the waist on a deep ribbed band, in a fine waffle-textured knit the colour of bitter chocolate.
