Stephanie Belted Cropped Sweatshirt

The Stephanie belted cropped sweatshirt cinches a boxy, dropped-shoulder body at the natural waist with a wide self-fabric belt. It comes in a true flat black and in a mid brown with a clear olive undertone.

The fabric is a smooth, flat-faced sweatshirt knit of standard thickness, with a soft brushed-looking inside face visible at the hem and fine ribbing at the neckband and cuffs. The shoulder seam sits well down the upper arm, and the sleeves carry a full, slightly balloon volume gathered into narrow ribbed cuffs long enough to reach the base of the hand. The belt does all the shaping. There is no ribbed waistband and no elastic: the body hem is a plain straight finished edge. Cropped here means short, not bare. The belt sits at the natural waist and the hem finishes just below it at the top of the hip, with a short section hanging below the belt like a small peplum, and no skin is exposed between the hem and the bottoms in any frame. Both colorways are opaque. Wear it with high-waisted jeans or wide-leg trousers.

FAQ

Is the belt a drawstring or a tie?
Neither. It is a wide belt cut from the same fabric as the sweatshirt, with a large fabric-covered rectangular buckle. The strap is pulled through the buckle and folded back over itself. There is no cord, no elastic hem tie and nothing to knot. The sweatshirt itself pulls on over the head.

Does the belt come off?
The belt is threaded through flat self-fabric loops at the waist and it is shown worn in every image, so we cannot promise it detaches. Treat it as part of the sweatshirt rather than as a separate belt you can swap out.

How cropped is it?
Short, but not midriff-baring. The belt sits at the natural waist and the hem lands just below it at the top of the hip, with a small peplum below the belt. No skin is exposed between the hem and the bottoms in any of the photographs.

What shade is the brown?
A mid brown with a clear olive undertone. It reads as a khaki-brown in the outdoor frames and as a warmer tobacco brown under studio light. It is not a deep chocolate brown.
