Bertille Crossover V-Neck Button Cardigan

Bertille is a black crossover V-neck button cardigan, held by two gold-tone buttons set on a diagonal across the front.

The knit is fine gauge, smooth and matte, with a fine vertical rib along the sleeves and side panels. The right front crosses slightly over the left, which sets the deep V on an asymmetric line, and narrow flat self bands finish the neckline and the front edges. It is cut slim and skims the waist. The hem falls at the hip, curved at the front, a little longer at the back, with a split at each side seam. Wear it over wide-leg jeans or a straight skirt.

Questions

Do the two buttons actually fasten?
Yes. Both buttons close, drawing the crossover fronts together at the chest and at the waist. There is nothing above the top button and nothing below the lower one, so the cardigan opens away from the body below the waist. That gap is part of the design.

Where does it end?
At the hip. The front hem is curved and cuts up slightly, the back is a touch longer, and each side seam has a short split.

Are the sleeves long?
Yes, deliberately so. They run past the wrist and sit over part of the hand. There is no cuff band to stop them, so you can push them up or leave them long.

How does it fit?
Close. It is a slim, body-skimming cut, so take your usual size if you like that line and size up if you would rather it skimmed than traced.
