The Lydie ombre stripe sheer ribbed knit top is a fitted mock-neck knit built from a four-stage color gradient. Read this part first: the top is sheer. The pale taupe, blush and gray bands are see-through, and skin shows through them.

The gradient is knitted in, not printed. Graduated horizontal stripes pack tight and thin out across each transition so the eye reads a fade: warm taupe at the neck and shoulders, solid black across the chest, blush-nude at the waist, soft mid-gray at the hem, with fine ivory and pale blue-gray pinstripes threading through every change. Both sleeves are solid black. The black bands are opaque, the pale bands are not, so a bra or camisole will show through them. FAQ

How see-through is it?
The pale bands are genuinely sheer. Through the taupe at the shoulders and the blush and gray at the waist and hem you can see the collarbone, the shoulder line, the bare torso and the navel. The black chest band and the black sleeves are opaque. Underwear will show through the pale areas.

What should I wear underneath?
That is your call, and it is a real trade-off. A camisole or a nude bra keeps the coverage up but breaks the gradient the top is built around. Worn on its own the color run stays intact and the pale bands stay sheer. Many shoppers style it over a high-waisted jean so the sheer hem band reads as intentional.

Is this a turtleneck or a mesh knit?
Neither. The neck is a low mock band of about 3 to 4cm that stands up rather than folds over. The fabric is a very fine sheer rib knit with no holes, eyelets or netting anywhere.
