Prudence Belted Denim Shirt Jacket

The Prudence belted denim shirt jacket is cut oversized, with dropped shoulders and unusually long, wide bell sleeves that fall past the wrist and partly cover the hands. A self-fabric denim belt ties at the waist.

Six gold-tone buttons run the full length of the front, from the base of the pointed shirt collar down to the hem, and the hem lands on the upper to mid thigh, well above the knee. There are four real pockets: two on the chest under button-down flaps, two open patch pockets at the hip. It comes in one wash, Blue, a stonewashed mid-indigo carrying contrast gold-amber topstitching on every seam. Wear it over a tee and shorts, or belted over a slip dress with boots.

FAQ

Does the belt have a buckle?
No. It is a strip of the same denim, topstitched along both edges and threaded through carriers at the back waist. You tie it, either in a knot with the tails hanging or in a flat bow. There is no buckle and no hardware of any kind.

How does the front fasten?

How does it fit, and how long are the sleeves?
It is oversized. The shoulder seam drops well past the natural shoulder, the body is boxy, and the sleeves are long and wide enough to sit over the backs of your hands. The room is in the cut, so take your usual size. The hem lands on the upper to mid thigh, well above the knee.

Is it warm enough for winter?
No. The denim is lightweight. Treat it as a transitional jacket for spring and fall, and layer a knit under it when the temperature drops.
